A diversion

.....Well, I have mostly been working my Blade, but I have run into a bit of a roadblosk with that roomful of demonic types; we cant kill them fast enough and have to retreat out of the room to avoid getting massacred.
......So I took a bit of a break and started using my Berserker->Thief mutant. A bit freakish. I initially put 3 pips in both bastard swords and long swords. I dualed over at level 7. Currently level 12 thief. Interestingly enough, I can still put more skill into both bastard swords and longswords. Which means I will eventually have High Mastery in both those weapons. The reason I wanted bastard sword proficiency was to be able use Foebane, which I acquired just today over in Watcher's Keep. Being only a level 7 Fighter, my current THACO isn't all that great, but my defence is quite good ... AC -8.
.....This also presents some interesting alternate paths for me to take. I usually start converting my party to evil characters around Chapter 3 because of the serious lack of NPC thieves. Hexxat is just so much better than Jan, and I prefer a more evil party composition in that case. But now, I myself will be filling the thief role. So I was thinking of trying a good-neutral run. Keldorn instead of Dorn, Anomen instead of Viconia, maybe Mazzy as a fighter type instead of Korgan, etc. I will still be dumping Minsc, as he is just a total moron; going to replace him with Valygar I think. I'll probably keep Naliya as my mage type, by the time we get to spellhold she will just be a better mage than Imoen. Although that's not set in stone. In ToB Imoen gets some minor Bhaalspawn powers which Naliya will lack. Need to weigh the pros and cons.
.....This is a long term project, of course. I want to get back to my Blade, and see if I can't get past that bothersome stumbling block in Watcher's Keep.
