Unable to open character and save files for BG2EE despite being able to do so for BG1EE & SOD

Hello. I'm unable to open my character and save files in BG2 using Near Infinity for reasons unknown to me. I can open them perfectly fine in BG1 and SOD. Whenever I attempt to do so I get the message "Error reading 'file name' null." I use a Mac, so EEKeeper seems to be out of the question. As far as I know, the files should be the same regardless of what OS you're using. I'm no tech-savant, so I have no idea what the issue is or how to fix it. I'm willing to link files so people can look them over and tell me what the problem is.
