Combat log issue

Hi I am having difficulty with the combat log. It always scrolls all the way up instead of down(the most recent action). I try to read the last action on the combat log quite often. But even if I scroll down every time it automatically scrolls back up. I saw a fe people have this issue. But no fix except maybe a complete ui overhaul mod. Does anyone know of a fix?
I am running the updated version of the game with npc portraits, npc conversations, journal update and unfinished quests mods. It happens with built in mouse and external mouse. I am on steam and its updated and so is my laptop. Thank you
