Script Editor "auto fill" script name

I am fully aware there are probably a lot of people who LIKE this feature, so I'm asking for a toggle, not an elimination (unless everyone out there turns out to be like me).

It actually represents MORE work for me when the script editor, upon opening an existing script, auto-fills in the most recently edited script with the letters I've typed and does not show the other scripts with those letter combinations.

I don't mind this feature if it would still show me the list, but by excluding all the other candidates this feature actually causes me more problems than it solves. Maybe one time in ten I'm trying to get the exact same script as last time.

I AM FULLY AWARE that there are ways to work around this, I'm just saying that it requires extra work in a work-around.

Any way to toggle this feature off, or at least get the list of qualifying scripts to still show? So that people who still like this feature can still have it not troll or flame me pointlessly?

    I second the motion. This "feature" is more of a bug than a feature. Most of the time, I do not want to edit the same script as last time and instead want the list.
    It might be useful to have a check-box to hit to recall the name of the last script edited, but then the check-box should immediately clear so that you can (for example) edit the script name in case you want a different name but based on the name of the last script edited. That would be useful for menu scripts where each script name starts the same but ends differently.

    I'm pretty sure that "feature" has always been there even in the original version.
    I will never miss it if it goes away, but I also wouldn't be surprised if it's some default option that's impossible or really hard to rewrite.

    Glad to see you'd also be okay if the feature went away. I'm delighted to see how many people are still developing NwN modules.

    I started with NwN at launch, played and developed with original and both expansions. The feature was introduced with Enhanced Edition and was not part of the original toolset.

    Even if the feature was "kept" but the filtered list of scripts still showed (instead of them being blank because of the pre-assumption we want the auto-fill script blanks the list for matching reasons) I'd be okay. That would be the best of both worlds. If the filtered list could filter only on what you've typed and not on the whole assumed script name.

    Oh wow. I've been dealing with it so long I forgot that it wasn't always there. Sure enough, opening the Diamond edition, it does not do that.
    Yes. The auto fill has never been helpful and only ever been annoying.
