NVN EE Chapter 2 - Wanev 2nd floor - HELP

I can access 2nd floor. I am on the top the stairs but will not me to enter? There is also no Star of Calimshan in the loot boxes. How can I proceed? I have used Grimgnaw as my compainion alll the way at the start of the game. Does this mean my quest here in Wanev tower will not proceed?
