Journal Entries not Appearing

I started chapter 4 of the game. I turned in Mulahey's Holy Symbol in Chapter 4 after already killing Tranzig and running through Nashkel mines. I remember talking to the mayor after killing Tranzig, but I guess I hadn't turned in the symbol.

Now my journal Important Events topic is: "Tranzig I should travel to Beregost and pay a visit to Feldepost Inn. A man by the name of Tranzig is there and should have important interesting information for me."

I've already done this part of the quest, and my journal is now not updating with new entries. I see the entries pop up on screen, but when I go to check they do not appear.
