Whispers of Silence

OK, if I have a mage cast improved invisibility on themselves and wear that cloak, they can't be detected by simple detect invisibility methods. However, I know that this protection isn't absolute; high level detection spells will orerride this effect. What spells fall into this category? Spells like Oracle, Invisibility Purge, True Sight? Can a thief with Detect Illusion ability see them? Disabling enemy caster's spells with something like silence should prevent any such thing; but they can just move out of the silenced area and then cast their detections. .

If you want to become truly non-detectable then you have to edit the cloak to give its wearer Protection from Spell Type, then set the type to Divination Attack.

Okay, going through the divination attack spells:
    - Detect Invisibility, Invisibility Purge. Just a "reveal invisible" effect. Non-detection effects such as that cloak are fully effective.
    - Detect Illusion. Removes illusions up to spell level 3 in an area. An Invisibility or Invisibility 10' spell goes away, an Improved Invisibility spell stays because of its level.
    - Oracle. Reveals invisible creatures and removes illusions up to spell level 5. Also destroys illusionary creatures. If you're using a non-illusionary source such as thief stealth to be invisible, the cloak of non-detection will protect you. If you're using Improved Invisibility, then the cloak doesn't help because your invisibility source is removed.
    - True Sight/True Seeing. Reveals invisible creatures and removes illusions with no spell level limit. Also destroys illusionary creatures. And repeats the whole thing once per round for ten rounds. As above, an Improved Invisibility spell won't help because it just gets removed by the anti-illusion part.

The thief "Detect Illusion" skill: removes illusions with no spell level limit, destroys illusionary creatures. That'll reveal your mage with Improved Invisibility and the cloak just fine. (Though, I don't think any enemies ever use this in the unmodded game.)

    What creatures are illusionary?
    - In the circus tent quest, the werewolves and the "Pleasure Slave".
    - The "Spellhaunt" in the first level of Watcher's Keep.
    - The Ettin and Quaid in Neera's Wild Forest area.
    - Clones created by "Mislead" or "Projected Image" spells. Note that while Simulacrum is still an illusion-school spell, the clones it creates are not illusionary.
    - "Wizard Eye" creatures created by the spell of the same name.
    - The "Spectral Blade" you can summon with the Spectral Brand scimitar.
