(BG2) Low level content

In TOB it was a bit much seeing +3 weapons stocked as standard in Saradushian shops; besides which if you load a stock character for TOB loads of unique magical gear is already shoved down your pants, it's not like you need to buy stock +3 weapons. I'd like to see some of the world I've transcended, with Winthrop-esque salesmen plying their wares.

I agree, this is one of the reasons I tend to go for "low magic settings" in RPG's, it just feels cheap if every shop owner and their mothers carry their own collection of magical items. It cheapens the thrill of finding a rare goodie...

That said, BG1 is more humble in this respect, whereas BG2 is a more "epic" setting with more items. Just another reason that I like BG1 more... altho, for the progression of the story, it totally makes sense and BG2 is still awesome :)

Waukeen's Promenade and other areas in Atkathla/Amn have tons of merchants that sell only non-magical wares. I don't see the need to add any more.

That said, I do dislike +3 weapons being sold in stores. However, not having those would make gold basicly pointless, as there's no way you can spend 50.000+ gold pieces without purchasing zounds of magical gear.

I'm thinking mainly of the TOB section.
