When do the orginal Romances Start

in New Players (NO SPOILERS!)
I have played up to chapter 5 and have Coran, Ajantis, and Xan in my party. My character is a Chaotic Good Swashbuckling Elf girl. Not once have any of the NPC spoken to me... no romance dialogue...nothing. Am I missing something? then new characters all talk. Thanks for the help. :) Oh, and my reputation is at 14

    There weren't any in the original Baldur's Gate 1.

    If you're recalling it happening in BG1, then yeah it was a mod. Default game, there aren't any. Most the NPCs are really flat, really, and have very little interaction with you outside of them joining.

    Yeah, unless you used a mod, there are no romances and the inter-party banter is pretty sparse...it exists but it's not nearly as prevalent as in BG2.

    They do, but they apparently don't go 'third date' in BG1. However, they will go on and develop in BG2EE.

    Banter for the NPC's in the original game was added by the mod NPC1Project. Overhaul couldn't add banter to the original NPC's because the contract with the owners of the original game doesn't allow them to change the original content. Modders aren't limited by contracts. Now it's for hoping a NPCBGEE Project gets released.
