[MOD] Standard Awesome Modpack v1.0.0
The Standard Awesome Modpack is a content mod for the BG portion of EET.
Available on GitHub
I've always disliked the generic 'General Store' merchant in Baldur's Gate. While it's realistic that a city would contain many mundane merchants, it's more fun to have additional interesting places to explore. As this is the first release, only one such merchant has been replaced, but it's a start. All changes are individual components, so you install or leave out whatever you like.
What This Mod Does
❖ Replace nondescript merchants in Baldur's Gate with something more interesting.
❖ Attempt to address the heaps of gold and experience players have in mid-to-late-game (especially when using mods) by adding things that require lots of money (and occasionally experience) to obtain.
❖ Attempt to address power imbalances introduced by this mod by adding drawbacks to all powerful effects, requiring players to make more tradeoffs when choosing between options (no 'best-in-slot' items/effects).
❖ Add other smaller flavorful/quality-of-life changes that could improve the game.
Main Components
❖ Book Merchant in Baldur's Gate - Replaces a generic 'General Store' in Baldur's Gate with a merchant who sells books that offer permanent modifications that have balanced benefits/drawbacks and come at a high monetary price. Includes some minor fetch quests that unlock additional books.
Secondary Components
❖ Intelligence to Read Stat Tomes - Makes vanilla stat tomes/manual require 9 intelligence or higher to read (same as scrolls).
❖ Bonus Spell Sequencers - Two new spell sequencers for low-level spells - one at level 3 and one at level 5. Note that the AI does not yet use them, so this changes the balance in the player's favor.
