When should I go take a trip with Hjollder?

I’m playing a game on HoF mode from the beginning. It’s been a different kind of challenge.

I’ve just finished level 1 of Dragon’s Eye, and I’m not sure what order I should be doing things in.

I’ve beaten the base game (before EE, eons ago), and this is a very different challenge.

I want to grab gear so I have the easiest time completing this immense game. I just kind of need some help with what I should be doing in what order.

When I leave with Hjollder, am I stuck far away for a long time?

    probably right before you fight the priest boss up the stairs that require the badges would be a good time, because after that, there is no way to go back ( since you will be teleported to easthaven )

    and once you leave with hjollder you will not be able to come back until after the white dragon has been killed, so you will be gone awhile if you leave with him
