Edwin loses spells - bug?

I just cleared out this tomb and gave Edwin his Netherl scroll. I went to buff my party before the next part and realized that poor Edwin had lost basically half his spell slots and memorized spells! Is there any easy fix to this? I'm running the latest UB and a bunch pf other mods (mostly new quests) but I've never had this problem before. :/

    One of the effects of level drain is that it disables all bonus spell slots from equipment. So, If Edwin gets level drained, his amulet stops working until he's cured - level drain is particularly bad on him.
