Cinematic crashes

Hi all,
The entire game freezes up and creates a sort of colourful checkerboard pattern on my screen on the Rest or Death cinematics. I reckon it happens maybe twice in six cutscenes. Can't do anything but end the program with control panel. It seems to be getting worse. Never had this problem in 25 years of playing inifinity games. Please help!
