Dragonlance: Chaos Wars is a long-running Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition persistent world that has been in development for nearly 20 years. Set shortly before the beginning of the Chaos Wars, the server is rooted in Dragonlance lore while allowing player actions and roleplay to shape the future of Ansalon rather than strictly following canon.
We're an RP-focused server with a strong emphasis on exploration, challenging PvE, and meaningful progression. The world is actively maintained and continues to receive regular updates and new content.
Our immediate need is an area builder.
I'm the lead developer and handle nearly all scripting, gameplay systems, balance, and server mechanics. Another developer assists with UI and larger technical systems. What we need most is someone who enjoys building immersive areas.
Our highest priorities are:
-Modernizing older transition areas
-Rebuilding wilderness regions
-Creating new towns
-Designing new dungeons
These are areas players travel through every day, so improving them would have a huge impact on the overall feel of the world.
You do not need scripting experience. You won't be expected to maintain systems or code.
I can gladly handle all of that. I simply need someone who enjoys creating beautiful, immersive areas.
Major cities should remain faithful to Dragonlance lore and geography. Beyond that, you'll have a great deal of creative freedom. Original locations, environmental storytelling, wilderness regions, ruins, and dungeons are all welcome as long as they fit the setting.
Looking for Long-Term... or Just One Project
Ideally I'd like to find someone interested in helping long-term. However, if you'd rather build one town, a dungeon, or help modernize a handful of existing areas, I'd still love to hear from you.
