Infinity Express is a Windows desktop app that helps you build a working, curated mod install for Infinity Engine Enhanced Edition games - without spending hours/days/months studying install order guides.

What it is
InfinityExpress is a component-based mod route planner. You pick individual WeiDU components from a curated and sorted catalog. The app keeps rules, conditions, and offers alternatives so the selection stays installable. Recommended presets get you started quickly. You can refine the selection station by station.

Supports BG1EE / BG2EE / EET / IWDEE / PSTEE
Who it’s for
People who want a solid install of popular, stable/maintained mods - fixes, restorations, ui, graphics, sounds, quests, NPCs, mechanics, tweaks, AI, etc., without becoming a part-time install-order researcher.
If your goal is: "I want something that works, with good defaults, and I can still pick components", this is aimed at you.
Who it’s not for
Experienced modders who already know how to build and maintain a working install order, and who want to freely add arbitrary mods outside a curated sequence.
Right now Infinity Express is focused on purpose: painlessly creating an install order that just works. Freeform "add any mod anywhere" is a later goal, not the current focus.
How mods/components get into the sequence
When expanding the curated list, priority goes to:
The components catalog/install sequence is living content - order, components, and tagging will keep improving toward 1.0 and beyond.

- Mods - see what’s on disk, download missing packages, update the others
- Install - run an automatically built installation plan, run it in-app with access to the console output, manage vanilla backups and named snapshots

- New mods and mods that are still maintained, or left in a good, usable state
- Newer mods over older alternatives when both cover similar ground
- Mods that blend well with the rest of a typical big install (compatibility / overlap / “plays nicely with others”)
The components catalog/install sequence is living content - order, components, and tagging will keep improving toward 1.0 and beyond.
Road to 1.0
Focus is reliability and polish of what’s already there:
- Notifications: toasts, sounds, system notifications (install done, project init done, etc.)
- Performance: reduce rare UI freezes during install and during cleanup
- Other performance / refactor / test suite work
- Quick links: open data folder, user data folder, launch game
- Bugfixes from my own testing and community reports
- Continue enhancing the install sequence (install order corrections, more components, better tagging, correcting the preset components selection)
- Correctly restore component selection state when using snapshots
- Installation time estimates (its called "Cost" in the current UI) for most components
Planned after / beyond 1.0
- Randomisation tool (random quests / NPCs / friendships / romances) for replayability
- Languages handling: components and app UI
- UI / aesthetics polish
- Allow users to add components into the install order
- Integrated proposal system for mod/component/install-order corrections (easy way to suggest fixes)
- Packing / unpacking backups
- Linux compatibility
- Optional post-install DLC packaging (Argent77’s DLC Builder)

This is a public beta. Feedback from people who actually do big mod installs is the most useful thing right now.
Please consider:
- Testing the app on your setup (especially EET and bigger selections, but I have to admit that I didn't put much effort in IWD and PST yet too)
- Reporting bugs (crash / freeze / wrong WeiDU outcome / UI issues)
- Proposing mods or components that belong in a modern curated install
- Correcting install order where something is wrong or risky
- Fixing tagging (recommended/package labels, conditions, alternatives, complexity, etc)
- Sharing the generated metrics file from the app data folder (useful for installation time estimates)
