Is the Wiki Correct?

Sometimes the wiki is wrong. The following pages raised a red flag for accuracy for me

Question 1 - Range of Negative Plane Protection spell
This wiki says that the spell has a range of 30’. Everywhere else it says the range is touch. Can someone tell me what’s going on?

Question 2 - How Long Does Protection from Magic Energy Last?
This wiki says 1 turn/level but other sources say 1 round/level. Does anyone know which is correct?

    Imho, Protection from Magic Energy can't be 1 turn/level, such spell would be excessively powerful! 👈

    I will check the range of Negative Plane Protection later today. 😎

    The range of Negative Plane Protection is indeed 30 ft! (checked in BG1) 👈

    A lot of descriptions in the original manual were just lifted from rule books, with little to no editing to accommodate actual in-game mechanics. The range of Negative Plane Protection probably refers to the area of protection it provides to the targeted character.

    Also, oBG and TotSC used partly different spell mechanics, than BG2 did later on. EEs futher changed some of the spells. EEs harmonized BGEE and BG2EE to utilize same spells.

    As so happens, many of the current scrolls in BGEE still use the oBG spell descriptions, because scroll description stringrefs havent been updated, only the actual spell descriptions were updated. The underlying spells use the current BGEE mechanics and show descriptions correctly, but scrolls might not, one example is Spirit Armor. BG2EE doesnt have this same issue.

    No, it means that your cleric/druid/shaman can cast it on someone distantly from any distance =<30 ft! 👈

    That's all very helpful! I'm especially pleased to know my priests can drop Negative Plane Protection from a distance. I can have Anomen cast Negative Plane Protection on Keldorn multiple times from afar while he blasts vampires with the Sling of Seeking.
