Third party code hooks and engine extensions to up the limits of classes and races?

Greetings, all!
I am new at NWN’s inner workings but have found the PRC8 mod a fascinating way to somewhat emulate tabletop rules.
A major limit present in NWNEE has been 254 possible races and classes for player characters. Other games have used code hooks and workarounds via third party programs to get around their base games’ limits. Temple of Elemental Evil for PC has Temple+ which expands the class options beyond what were originally available, for example.
A less elegant workaround would be to chose from a list at install time what custom classes and races to install within the current limits.
I have heard of NWNXEE to help with certain things but am unsure what it does or how it would help here.
