More Joinable NPC's

First id like to ask if its only 1 NPC that will be joinable or are they planning to add a few others?

I think they should add a few more NPCs (Not all of them need to make an appearance in BG 2) with interesting personality's and backgrounds.
Alot of NPC's in Baldurs Gate didnt have so many lines, so i think is quite okey if they add a few more with just a few dialogue's and maybe expand them in Baldur's Gate 2 EE.

I would like to see a few more Evil Pureclass Fighter's, assassin and a few more cleric's of diffrent faith's.

What do you think about adding more Joinable NPC's etc? Feel free to discuss it here.

I am not sure about your first question to be entirely honest. I "THINK" there were more planned, at least 1 more. But then again, I might have misunderstood some tweet by Trent.

I am always in favor of adding new NPC`s as long as each one of them have a considerable amount of depth and distinction. And that`s for sure not an easy task, so I would rather have fewer NPC`s but with great personality/background/stories than an army of brainless zombies.

I could always forge something up in my mind for a "generic" NPC. But It wont be nearly as good like something a professional writer can come up with, haha.

well, i hope to god they do and that it goes without saying. for example, i'm not very keen on adventuring with my family (uncle, anybody? i thought imoen is enough. good thing aliana is out of the question...).

of course, imo number of new npc-s should be kept within reasonable limit and balanced to represent various points alignment and class not covered by existing npc-s.
at the same time, i would be much happier with well written, interesting and believable characters that are fewer in number than new small army of "varied" ones.

if few of them get transferred to bg2:ee (like jaheira), all the better.

Good voice acting and a good Background story, aswell as a few nice dialogue's would be sufficient for me atleast, The old NPC's in baldur's gate was very colorful, there was just a lack of dialogue, in Baldurs Gate 2 there was alot of dialogues, in my opinion in this first game they dont have to add that amount of dialogues that was in BG 2, but they could add a few more than the original ones in BG had. :)

They cant add new content for NPC`s from the original game. I think they said they will add some more text to them, but it will probably be to add some "flavor" I guess.

Edit: Just in case. Updated with the tweet that confirms I`m not just randomly saying stuff, hahaha.

I know, i was refering to the new NPC's (If any others are being made) as being something inbetween BG 1 and BG 2 NPC's (just my opninion).
Since the old NPCs might be less attractive than the new ones, it might better to not overwork the new ones to give the old ones a chance too.

Edit: Wow, thats really great news! thanks for the reply, i tought they couldnt touch them at all.
Hope they add some battleshouts to the final battle. :)
