ntdll.dll instant crash on clicking "play" solution (worked on Alienware MX17r2 with ATI Radeon HD)

This worked for me (finally) with Windows 7 x64-Bit!

I tried moving directories before. It didn't seem to work. I have the game installed on my second HDD, so the directory of the "Baldur.exe" executable was:

"F:\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\Data\00766\Baldur.exe"

When I changed it to the following, it didn't work:

F:\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\Data\00766 Nope!
F:\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\Data Nope!
F:\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\ Nope!
F:\Baldur's Gate\ Nope!

Then I tried:

F:\GAMES\00766 Success!

I also have the following checked on the compatibility tab:

Run this program in compatibility mode for: Windows Vista (Service Pack 1)
Disable display scaling on high DPI settings
Run this program as administrator

So to clarify, I now have two game directories, I didn't MOVE it, I simply copied it. I created a new shortcut on the desktop called 'BGWORKAROUND', which sits next to my shortcut to the Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition launcher in my original directory. I keep testing that, same error. Even after the hotfix this morning.

The new shortcut I created now works every time, so just thought I'd share in case this works for anyone else.
