Game not launching after update

Hello,

when applying the latest update through the launcher (not beamdog) i get the option to install the update, click on it, ... , nothing happens. No process no exe open nothing, has the patch been installed? After that opening bgee.exe just does nothing at all; not even asking for patch or whatever.

i can launch the game fine through Baldur.exe but i would like it to work with the launcher and be up to date zith patches and news, anyone else had this happen?
