Bizarre Crash in Windows 7

Im not going to lie. Im getting a little annoyed. Ive been waiting for this game to download completely and after I get there, the game crashes every time after I hit play. I tried to see if this was because I didn't run in Compatability mode, but that is not the case as I tried. I am running the game on Windows 7 and every time after I hit play it says-

"This program has stopped responding. check for solutions."

I downloaded the patch trent made but nothings working. Does anyone suffer from this problem, I didn't notice a similar issue on forums.
