Ranger won't stealth

I am playing a Ranger (Archer) as main character. I have studded leather armor equipped. The stealth option is greyed out and I cannot get him to stealth. Anyone know what the problem is?

What's your reputation? If you've fallen, you lose stealth.

Ok, that must be it. Somehow I lost a reputation point. Maybe when I turned in Prism's gems for a bounty? Thanks a lot.

If you're reputation has actually dropped enough to become a fallen ranger (I think at reputation 4 or something) you won't regain your abilities even if you raise your reputation back up.

Thanks! Reputation is currently 8, early in game, so should be no problem bringing it back up.

You don't lose rep for turning in the Prism emerald bounty.

I made an Archer and can stealth normally in studded leather.

If you have fallen, you need to make a new character i think, or load from before your fall.
