Problems with the launcher and "P2P" system- How to turn it off!

Every time I ran the launcher, it would crash, and I couldn't get into the game. I was finally able to trick it with the following:
- Delete the launcher settings in the "BGEE" folder from C:\Users\eain\AppData\Local\BeamDog
- Run the launcher, and turn off "P2P" in the launcher before it would crash
This took several tries before I could actually click off the "Use P2P" toggle, as it crashes really quickly.
Then, because I wanted it to download faster than 25 K/s, I ended up turning P2P back on. Mistake, as it turned out. (I don't get into the port forwarding I had to do in order to get the P2P actually working right; why is this necessary in this day and age?)
So, with the P2P turned on, I was able to download quickly, but it didn't occur to me that it would cause problems later.
This morning, I tried to play again, and was invited to update. I clicked yes, and started the cycle of crashing again, but wasn't able to get to the point of turning off P2P through the launcher, as it was crashing too quickly.
But, I found the solution!
I was able to turn off "Use P2P" mode by changing the file:
C:\Users\\AppData\Local\BeamDog\BGEE\Profiles\Settings\
which contains the single line:
True
I changed
True
to
False
and now the launcher starts up just fine.
So, if you're having problems with the launcher, try that.
