Client and standalone downloads freeze

I tried updating the patch today and the update client kept freezing. It would download for a couple of minutes then just get stuck - completely unresponsive, I had to close it through the task manager. This happened a few more times, so I completely uninstalled BGEE and downloaded the Beamdog Client.

Now, the client runs for a few minutes but it too is freezing when I try to download BGEE, it's stuck around 28% with the same problem, the client just freezes and goes completely unresponsive. I downloaded the newest version of the Beamdog client directly from the website.

Anyone else having similar download issues?
