Main character won't die.

I have had a glitch where my main character cannot die. It is set on Core Rules difficulty not novice or normal so he should. I've experienced during times where the party should be wiped. One instance I was going into a cave by myself and was knocked to the ground with 1hp and would not get up. I sent in a Cleric and every time she healed me I automatically lost all the hp she was restoring. Every time after that I just go down to 1hp and can stay and fight even if I keep taking damage. It always results in me having to reload. I was wondering if anyone had a fix for this.
