Is there any way to level up NPCs that aren't in your party?

in New Players (NO SPOILERS!)
I want to switch Jaheira and Khalid for Viconia and some other fighter, but I noticed that Viconia is only level 2 while most of the NPCs in my party are level 6.

    That's pretty odd, NPCs normally level up ( 1, 2, 4, 6, if you've attained enough total xp to reach that level for them) , if you've not talked to them yet. Did she join your party prior and you're picking her up again?

    Yes, she did join the party, but I left her in that forest area where I found her.

    yeah, thats gonna be the reason if they already joined you once they stop leveling : (

    Are there any cheat codes that can bring them to level 6?

    There are two ways to level them up quickly.

    1) Drop EVERYONE ELSE and just run around with the low level NPC. That way the xp is split by 2 instead of split by 6.

    2) Do a map with high level monsters. If you have a party of full level 6s and only one lowbie, you could, for example, do the basilisk map or the sirine map and she should get 2 levels in about 10 minutes.
