Mages run up to target to cast Fireball

Current Behaviour.
My sorceress will run up to the target area to cast fireball. She then toasts herself or gets attacked be enemies.

Expected Behaviour
Spell caster to stay well away from the target of ranged spells.

This isn't consistent. If I select a character using the portraits this does not happen. If I select clicking on the person it does. This may be tied into the annoying 2 clicks needed to get a character to act. Again this only happens if I don't select using the portraits.

Sed

Very similar to ranged attacks, where archers prefer to hug their enemies. Try setting the script to ranged - worked for me :-)
There is something fishy with the standard script

@Sed I didn't even think of that. Been having a huge issue with Imoen wanting to use her bow in CQB at every turn.
