BG:EE froze and crashed after sleep (Gnoll stronghold)

After rescuing Dynaheir and taking her to the party (and leaving Kagain standing around near her prison pit), I visited the Xvart caverns below the stronghold. I slept in the south-most and then in the north-most (with the carrion crawler). In the latter, the app froze and soon after crashed.
Notes:
- there were no sleep cutscenes when sleeping indoors, but the app once flashed as if it wanted to load them
- I was detecting traps with Imoen before the sleep
- Dynaheir, unlike others, had only a single circle around her when selected (as if she wasn't really in the party). When I realoaded the quicksave, she had double circle as expected.
For whatever it's worth, this is what Windows coughed up:
