Why won't it start?

This is absolutely ridiculous. I just bought this game downloaded it with the Beamdog installer and tried to launch it and it won't. I read through all the forums help posts and they don't help. THE INI IS NOT EVEN WHERE THEY SAY IT IS. I DON'T HAVE ONE. I would get a refund for this game if it were possible. I have an Alienware laptop that switches from AMD to the Intel chip. It is currently on the AMD card and it will simply not launch. No errors or anything. I click it and it loads for a few seconds and never does anything. I have updated drivers, I tried running in compat mode, administrator etc. to no avail. I can't find my ini to change anything because it is not in my documents. I have windows 7 64 bit with an AMD 6970m. These devs should really be ashamed and I feel like an idiot for spending 20 dollars on this garbage.

Yep, exact same situation here. Except my system is intel/nvidia and I have even disabled the intel chip in bios.. forced nvidia chip via the nvidia control panel.

These developers are scum and should be flushed down the toilet for not testing it.

yes, problems launching but no response from the "developers"...Steam works...these people are counting the cash and gone

If they're not responding, it's because they're busy finding solutions to the problem. I understand it's frustrating.

You need to get "OpenAL32.dll" and "OpenAL64.dll" files. One way to get them is if you have minecraft installed. Then you can find them at:
    C:\Users\Username\AppData\Roaming\.minecraft\bin\natives

Ye can also download them here.
    http://www.2shared.com/file/N-KRvvbv/OpenAL32.html
    http://www.2shared.com/file/u89_VERR/OpenAL64.html

After you get them, place them in the following locations. No need to overwrite if any are there already.
    [Installation folder]\Baldur's Gate Enhanced Edition\Data\00766
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64

Now, this fixed this issue for me at least. But that leaves me with CTD if I take a look at a map note.

PS: The .ini file aint created unless the game successfully launces at least once.

    EDIT:
Well, got a message asking me to send the dump file from the Map crashing. So went to start the game but then found out I'm no longer able to run the game. Verified those files are in their place so for whatever reason adding those files yesterday allowed be to run the game then but no longer.
