disappointed
Just wanted to let the developers know that I am fairly disappointed in the game.
I have only been playing for a couple of hours and have encoutered a load of bugs, and poorly executed or thought-over changes.
A few examples I can remember straight out of my head:
The zoom level resets every time you enter a new area/house.
The characters have a poor response when rapidly selecting and ordering them.
The graphics are blurry, especially the icons and text in the journal and spell books. Some icons like the luck symbol are even hardly recognisable anymore. Very disappointing.
The journal is a pain to scroll and browse through. The scroller often doesn't work and clicking on a journal entry opens up a dialog box to edit the text?? Really? Editing an official game journal entry?
Alot of sounds on npc's seem to be missing or changed (for the worse).
Drizzt has a helmet? lol. Drizzt dit not help me in the gnoll fight, tried it 2 times. And his new dialog line is completely unfitting of his character.
Again I have only played for a few hours and aren't even 1/4 into the game.
Beamdog boasts about having fixed over 400 bugs.
But to be honest I never noticed any real bugs in BG1 or BG2 for that matter.
At least not the kind of bugs that really anoy you, or they would have stayed with me.
And here I am playing the enhanced version and frustration rises even after an hour of playing. Especially the zoom reset and character responsiveness get on my nerves.
So far, it seems to me like beamdog created more bugs and poor changes than they fixed.
I am seriously wondering how justified it is to speak of an "enhanced edition".
The more I play, the more sarcastic this subtitle seems to become.
The best experience to play BG for me stays tutu+widescreen mod. And that is free by the way.
I am sure there are people who feel like this is a real improvement, but alas, I cannot count myself among them.

The stupid not clearing finished quests + multiple logs on completed or not through the chapters is gone and that was for me the most annoying part. And yes considered a bug in my book (there you have one).
The editing is not something spectacular, however it's a feature usable to add certain notes within the parts, instead of the old system that left it on a different page alltogether. Again an upgrade in my book.
I guess not all can be satisfied with enhancement.
