[Request] Draining kills memorization selection

Current behaviour:
Got a party of casters fighting undead? Soon you'll be sick of reselecting your memorized spells after every level drain + restoration.
Desired behaviour:
Somehow the original selection should be restored too by restoration.

(Reddit request by Swarnacle)
I hope this hasn't already been posted; I couldn't find anything with a quick search.
Maybe this only applies to BG2, but it is incredibly annoying to have to reselect spells for your mages/clerics every time they have been restored from a level drain. When they get level drained, they usually lose at least one spell slot per level. When I then restore them to their proper level, I have to select the spells to fill those lost spell slots anew, again and again. If the game could remember the spell choices I've made when the level drain is cast and then select them for me again when my Mage is restored, that would certainly save me a lot of frustration It is not a game breaking flaw in any way, but when fighting vampires for example it quickly becomes a bit annoying.
Cheers!

YESSS!!! This is why one of the reasons why i enjoy playing a sorcerer or cleric rather then a mage/specialist mage. This would be a fantastic addition to the game.

This is good! I agree!

If this can be implemented, sure why not?

One of the best requests here

My recommendation for implementation would be that spell slots "lost" through level drain be tinted in your spellbook/prayerbook in red or blue, to signify that they're not available to cast but still there. That would allow the game to "remember" which spells you've got in those slots, without having to keep it in a separate table (and it would help the player remember what spells he's missing currently).

The game already shows memorized spells that were already cast by "graying" them out. That would be enough for me.

I like this suggestion a lot. That way it would also be easy to distinguish between spells you have lost because you've already cast them, and spells you have lost because of a level drain - the spells would not suddenly "reappear" when you rest.

Big yes for it. The memorized spells section in CRE format seems to have enough space for level drain flag, so it would be a shame to not put it to good use..
EDIT Actually, it shouldn't be limited to level drain only, but instead to all the ways to decrease the amount of active memorization slots. Like unequipping the Ring of Wizardry, or suffering a severe WIS penalty.
A complication that I foresee is how to deal with locked spells if player decides to delete a memorized spell to free the slot. I think locking excessive spells should also store information about the maximum slot amount is was locked at (the "memorized" dword has enough space for that), so that they will only be unlocked when the memorization allowance returns to that value (or greater).
@Lunever, this topic is fine, there isn't an existing one as far as I can tell.
Maybe Lunever could add a [Request] tag to the topic title of the discussion?
i say this one is more of a (annoying, inconveniet , senseless) bug than feature. as for implementation, i agree with @AndreaColombo suggestion. if re-clicking is minimized a lot has been done.
I think it depends on what we expect from level drain. I kind of feel like by having the game like the way it is now it really makes it so that you act strategically to avoid level drain. Using summoning creatures, distracting vampires with someone who has the amulet of power on (or is an undead hunter), etc. It makes it a much more serious effect than say disease. So yes, I agree that it sucks when it happens. But, I kind of agree with keeping it just because of how big of a pain in the behind it can be when your spell casters are hit with level drain.
i agree with spells being lost but not unmemorized. i recommend this to be posted in the bugs section, developers can always decide it is not a bug and ignore it.
