Protection from Non-magical weapons

Observed behaviour
My totemic druid's spirit animals can be hit with non-magical weapons.
I checked and compared with the BG2 versions and in both the animals carry the same item that grants immunity. I have tested this in BGEE by whacking the summons with my own non-magical weapons - and they take damage.

Expected behaviour
The effect: protection from non-magical weapons should work.

This might be for balacing reasons, bg1 is just too low magic?

I think I remember reading somewhere on these forums that this was a deliberate nerf, as otherwise they would be immune to just about everything for a significant portion of the game.

Yeah, same reason why the shapeshifter will always be garbage...both forms are supposed to be immune to non-magical weapons.

The spirit animals have been completely changed. Each animal now comes in 4 different levels depending on the level of the druid. They gain more hit points per level and generally get stronger. At druild level 10 the animals are immune to normal weapons.
