Rasaad not moving.

Current behavior:
Rasaad stops moving every 2-3 steps and he doesn't attack on command. I've tried removing him from party/killing him & ressing him/removing all scripts/removing all items. Nothing works. This started to occur once I reached Baldur's Gate and after I got the quest to meet some of his enemies at an Inn.

Expected behavior:
NPC's should do what they're bloody told to do.

If anyone had this problem or any solution to it I would be most grateful. It's somewhat frustrating getting him to level 6 and then I can barely play cause he refuses to do anything.

Hey, I have the same problem. I have been trying to finish Rasaad's quest to see if there would be any changes. But I got stuck. Have you done his quest? It might do something, since this suspicious behavior started when I encountered those Dark Moon NPCs.

As for the quest, I can't seem to finish it. There seems to be an overlap with Scar's quest (trying not to introduce spoilers as much as possible). My dilemma: Does Rasaad's quest take place in the same building as the one Scar's thing leads to? (if you've done any, you should know what I'm talking about). The problem is that when going to the aforementioned building, there are no Dark Moon monks there, just the enemies from Scar's quest. I kept going back to it at different times of the night, but no one else appeared. Perhaps if I properly finish Scar's quest? hmm.

Same thing here. After his quest started and I kill the three monks, now he moves only a step or two.

Ok - reloaded prior to meeting the 3 monks and Rasaad is moving again. pKlr - there seems to be a misleading error in the quest, the building is not the same as in Scar's quest, it is a bit to the West.

    Current behavior:

Chapter seven, got the quest to go to the Seven Suns building to find those evil monks teasing poor Rasaad. I had left one doppelganger alive there and hadn't talked to Jhasso(missed the door leading to the cellar the first time around). Went there at around midnight killed that last doppelganger and talked to Jhasso. No monks to be seen.

That however isn't even the main part of the bug because now Rasaad will only move for like 2 seconds before stopping. He doesn't even move with the party if using ctrl+j to teleport!

    Expected behavior:

Monks found at the Seven Suns building at night and especially Rasaad actually walking around normally.

Edit: Edited some global variables and it seems like Sorrem was supposed to teleport the party to a house?(I had a fade to black after talking to Sorrem for the first time, but never got moved anywhere and he didn't either). Also it seems like I had the wrong house since I ran there by myself.

Still the house I now got teleported to only had thieves in it and Rasaad is as bugged as ever. Also Sorrem never appeared at the house but if I talk to him again at the inn it's like his there and says his giving me a key though actually gives nothing(this was how it was before any editing).

Edit2: Managed to actually complete the quest this way changed SORREM_SEVEN_SUNS to 1 which teleported the party to the correct house. Changed it back to 3 talked to him at the inn where he pretended to open the door I guess, and then went back to the house. Now when I entered the house it actually had monks instead of thieves and everything seemed to work ok with Rasaad wanting to go to cloud peaks at the end. Rasaad is moving normally again too!

I think you missed the door. There are no monks in the building with Jhasso.
The problem with the missing thieves will be fixed in next patch.

Yes, I missed the door at first as I said (I went to the shapeshifter Seven Suns building, didn't try to find monks inside the inn Jhasso was in ;), but there were certainly bugged things there as well.

    1. Fade to black after talking to Jhasso the first time, nothing happened. Didn't get teleported anywhere(if this is supposed to happen), nor did any NPC like Jhasso himself move.
    2. Going during the night to the correct building, but Jhasso wasn't waiting outside it.
    3. Going during the night back to the inn, Jhasso is still there but acts likes his outside the building.
    4. The building being in the wrong "phase" when entered.
    5. And the most gamebreaking one, which was this whole Jhasso business causing Rasaad to not move more than 2 meters before stopping again. He didn't start any banter or anything, just didn't want to move until I clicked again to get to move another 2 meteres. Note this was before I changed any globals so it was purely BGEE's doing.

I'm playing a single player game and have reached Chapter 5. I'm following the Rasaad quest line after being attacked by some Dark Moon Cult members in Baldur's Gate.

I've met with Sorrem at the "Blade and Stars Tavern", whereby the game transports me outside what could be the thieves guild? (next to the Seven Suns) where I'm supposed to meet Sorrem after dark.

As soon as my part arrives, Rasaad stops being able to walk normally. He stops every second or so. He's not encumbered or anything similar.

Apologies, looks like someone has already reported this here - http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/9902/rasaad-not-moving

What further would we need to do to confirm this as a bug?

Thanks Bhaaldog for merging the threads.

I figured out in the end that if you elect to kill Sorrem rather than let him live, the bug doesn't present. This way, you're not transported next to the "Seven Suns" and can proceed directly to Cloud Peaks.

Well I guess that's given you a viable workaround, but it's still a bug.

You ought to be able to go to the building with Sorrem, and Rasaad ought to be moving normally when you do so, and you should be able to follow Sorrem into the building and find out what's now in there, before proceeding to the Cloud Peaks.

For me, it works as intended, so the bug doesn't arise every time.

I figured out that if you go back to the Blade and Stars Sorrem is still there he gives you a key if you talk with him and you can continue the quest.

I had a similar issue to the Original poster but it affected my starting character who was a Fighter. Specifically choosing certain AI Scripts will cause my Fighter to stop about 3-5 seconds after being given a Move command regardless of not having reached the intended destination.

I fixed it by switching him to Standard Attack script and now he will move from one side of a large area to the other side without issue.
