Skype and bgee on ipad

I'm thinking about getting an ipad3 to play bgee lazily on the couch and stuff like that. I want to play multiplayer with my friend though and im just wondering whether I'd be able to run skype and bgee at the same time so we can voice chat while playing.

Anyone here care to enlighten me?

    I haven't tried it, but I believe Skype is one of the few apps that will run in the background. A quick google search says yes
