BUG: Maximum number of mage spells / erase

When you reach the maximum number of mage spells for a spell level given your intelligence, erasing those spells from your spellbook does not free up slots.

    It works for me, I was at maximum, and I removed shield and learned chromatic orb, and have 14/14 spells.

    Perhaps it is only an issue with NPCs? I have run into this problem with Neera. My character is a paladin.

    Is it possible that Neera had more spells than she would "legally" be allowed to, meaning that even after deleting one, you're still at or above the limit for her intelligence? No idea if this is the case, just a theory, as NPCs sometimes have little quirks like that.

    This appears to be a bug specific to Neera. It's already in the tracker and will hopefully be fixed soon.
