Changing companion portraits? Shadowkeeper compatible?

I'd like to switch out a few of my companion's portraits - was wondering if anyone has had luck with this yet? (In a savegame, not from a new game of course)

Does the game work well with Shadowkeeper or has the structure changed?

I only slightly edited my chars stats, not portraits, so I don't really know, but my guess is the old portraits shadowkeeper recognises will not be entirely compatible. The pic format (size and resolution) has changed.

I haven't messed around with SK, but changing NPC ports is pretty easy. Say you want to change imoen's portrait. Just drop appropriately formatted bmps named ImoenL, ImoenM, and ImoenS in your portraits folder and it will display the new portrait for the npc in question.

I'll try the override portrait method Deuce mentions then - Don't want to mess around with my savegames this far in for something as little as portraits. It's only immersion after all.

That list is for the original games, naming should be the same except BGEE uses xxxxM and xxxxS.
Don't think there is a point in adding xxxxL pictures until we get BG2EE, I could be wrong though?

You can just browse the bmp files with Near Infinity to see the relevant files names.
@Freche Indeed, I don't know why there's a L version.
