Imoen - Chapter 4 - Best proficiency?

in Baldur's Gate II: Enhanced Edition
I have an extra proficiency point to spend on Imoen in spellhold... what's the best option? Single weapon, two weapon or quarterstaffs? My main character is a mage, so she would be the thief/2nd caster.

    None of those choices will help her all that much, but I'd personally opt for two-weapon fighting, not for melee purposes but so you can have a "defensive" weapon set to switch to on occasion.

    I will pick quarterstaff for the reach

    I gave her a pip in long sword this playthrough. I don't plan on using her as melee, but I am going to give her The Sword of Balduran, which is a long sword that adds magic resistance (and looks like a green light saber!) Going to add MR from ring of gaxx and amulet of power to buff up her resistance as much as I can.
