First a big thank you @lefreut

Is there any way to remove that prompt when i want to "forget" memorized spell, i turned it off in options but while this mod is installed that setting is ignored?

A small question: the tooltip above the map icon in the left panel says "World Map", but when I click on the button, it takes me to the area map, not the world map. Perhaps there's a better description for the tooltip? I forget what the tooltip said in classic BG, but when I look at the old manual, it labels the map icon "Maps", although a lot of the other icons have slightly different labels than what the tooltips say...

I forgot to read the setting before showing the prompt. You can fix this by editing the UI.menu file.
Replace the two occurrences of this line:
    if bottomSpells[idx].memorizedCount > bottomSpells[idx].castableCount then
    with this:
    if bottomSpells[idx].memorizedCount > bottomSpells[idx].castableCount or Infinity_GetOption(41, 9) == 0 then

In vanilla, it says "Area Map". You can replace 15418 with 16310 line 4409 if you can to change it. I will include this in the next release.

@lefreut one quick question. I used the JU Modifications that are listed in the main UI Forum. It requires your UI Mod, but does it require a specific skin? Can I use his zip file to load into any install I run since I always use your UI Mod, or does it only work in some situations?
I'm just curious because I really like how the portraits are at the bottom and the smaller buttons. I did post over there but it looks like nobody has done anything over there since July.

@Bloodstone this modification requires the SoD skin of my UI mod. And you will probably encounter some minor problems as it has not been updated to 2.5.

Thanks @lefreut , I'm not experienced as a modder, but I would like to learn how to make these types of adjustments myself, where is the best resource/guide that I can do some research to learn how to make these types of adjustments. And thank you for all your hard work on the UI modding scene, I certainly appreciate it.

@Bloodstone you can look at some posts in this topic for a basic introduction. But there is no advanced guide and (sadly) not a lot of people seem interested in UI modding.

The best is to experiment by yourself and ask questions in this subforum.

Hello, I've chosen the option "install all tweaks", but the spellbook didn't change at all. Still shitty as ever.... :(

For the rest, I would say it is a pretty great UI.

Edit: I saw some links in page 13. I was wondering if the link you published in the first post of this topic to download your mod is up to date?
  • lefreutlefreut Member Posts: 1,462
@Arthas it's strange as the main component changes all screens and the others only do some minor tweaks.

Both links are https://github.com/r-e-d/LeUI/archive/master.zip which is the latest version.

So, what do you suggest to detect what is the issue?

@Arthas can you post your weidu.log and UI.menu files so I can look at them?

@Arthas the one in the override folder.

@Arthas I don't see anything wrong with these files. Can you post a screenshot of the problem?

Your weidu.log and UI.menu say that you have the mod with the BG2:EE skin, but your screenshot shows the BG:EE skin. Something is broken somewhere but I don't know what.

I've downloaded your mod in the first page of the post in this topic.

    This problem is weird.

Ok, I've tried once again the reproduce the problem.

I downloaded the mod from the first page of this very same topic.

    extracted in the folder

    opened it

    uninstalled it first

checked if the uninstall went good (and it did!)

Installed once again all the stuff

The same issue with the spell book persists.

@Arthas What does the other screens look like? Which version do you have? BGEE or BGEE+SoD? Beamdog, Steam or GoG?
  • KilivitzKilivitz Member Posts: 1,459
My guess is that @Arthas is installing the mod on the Steam or GoG version without modmerger.

I remember a poster who was trying to use my SoD UI mod without modmerger and the side effects were very similar: BG:EE's blue UI showing up where it wasn't supposed to.

    BgEE only 2.5
    Gog version
Mod merger is already installed by BWS (roxanne's version)

@Arthas Wait, you have the mage screen working here. Does it work now?

    Seems like so.

I'm actually getting pretty confused about which one is the right screen to be honest AHAH

The spell book is the only thing that does not satisfy me of your pretty excellent UI. Clicking on one of the spells with the right click gives you a screen that is pretty bad to read the description of the spell itself.

@DrAzTiK It should only be the case when the character can level-up.

Speaking of, can the glow be disabled in UI.menu?

@agris Yes you can! Comment or remove the 6 lines "pulse 1" from the menu WORLD_LEVEL_UP_BUTTONS.
