BG2:EE "Not Responding" At Startup

I just installed BG2:EE, no mods, and tried multiple times to start a game. Each time it would progress as far as the "Dungeons & Dragons" screen. Then I would get the blue circular mouse cursor and a "BG2:EE - Not Responding" message in Task Manager. Lil' help, Beamdog?

I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit.
