Can't clic on the right side of the screen

Hello, both in BGEE and BG2EE, since I installed them again some days ago, I encountered this annoying issue: on the right side of the screen, roughly at the height in between the portraits for the fourth and fifth party members, there is a rectangular area where the game cursor suddenly turns into that of Windows (the white one) and I can't clic anything in game (this forces me to select characters on the edge of their portraits, and it also forces me to scroll up and down i.e. when I have to assign skills points, in order to get what I want to clic outside this area). What could be the cause?

BGEE is modded but BG2EE currently is not.
Previously, I never experienced this issue.

    Hello! This is a usual case on Win 10. That's the place where Windows puts its notifications in. Alt - Tab from the game, and come back. Also, please close (minimize) the Steam app - I've noticed it also helps.
