Regarding Sarevok in Ascension

Do I have to turn him good to keep him on my side or will he always refuse Mellisan? I'm playing good currently but that doesn't mean that I will continue to do so for every playthrough.

If he’s evil and the party’s got low rep, he stays. Also, if the difficulty’s on lowest, he always stays as well.

I think he always defects if you leave him out for the final battle but I’m not sure if there’s a check preventing that if he’s good but not in the party.

I think he will stay/not defect if either:
    - he turned good
    - you made him swear in the beginning to not betray you (he mentiones how such a pledge would be binding)

Nope, it’s referenced but Melissan breaks the geas, which is complete bs in my opinion but it is what it is.
