Unable to cast Magic User spells

Sorry if this is in the wrong category, but this was the closest one to my issue.

In BG2:EE Shadows of Amn, I have had two 6-7th level multi-classed magic users (Imoen and Ariel) who are completely unable to cast memorized magic user spells (scrolls work fine). All priest spells work normally. I have unequipped EVERYthing from both characters, but the magic user spells are all greyed out, and there is no note about why it might be happening on the character sheet. This persists outside of Athkatla, too. Am I missing something?

    I'm assuming you rested after choosing spells, since the priest spells work. Other possibilities I can think of:

    Are they level drained?
    Are they deafened/silenced?
    Do you have any mods? Maybe something is conflicting there.

    Are they wearing armor?

    If you upload your save I could look at it, but it does sound a bit like they are wearing armor... I am not sure what else specifically disables wizard spells but not priest spells...

    Actually, they were wearing studded leather, which disables magic. Derp. I could have SWORN I took all their equipment off... :#
