D&D 5e: building Link from Legend of Zelda

I want to make a character like Link using 5e rules. Any suggestions of what alignment, race and class he should bè?

Race should be probably Gnome. As far as I understood they're like midget fairy elves in 5e, making them the closest choice to Hylian.

Alignment? Depends on what version of Link you're basing that character of yours. One could say every Zelda game's Link had somewhat different character quirks. True Neutral, tending towards Neutral Good, would probably the savest choice.

Class? A fighter with some levels in Alchemist who can build bombs, perhaps? Bit bardish affinity for using the Ocarina of Time? Who knows...

Not officially ported by WotC as of yet, but homebrew adaptions do exist.
    Like this one.

I think i'll make my Link a Half-Elf Bard of Valor since Hylians are very human-ish despite their elf-life appearance and the Valor school makes the Bard focused on melee fighting.

    Elf Valor Bard.

    Sword and Shield? Check.

Armor? (Twilight Princess and Skyward sword he wears a chain shirt) Check.

    Magical musical abilities? Check.

Can use martial weapons? (Bow, Warhammer, Longsword, Greatsword) Check.

Like I don't know what more you would need.

    Edit:

Bonus, make your three bard instrument proficiencies be in the Ocarina, Harp, and a conducting wand (custom magic instrument that would use the wind to make music).

@Vallmyr Someone in the homebrew D&D wiki made a 5e version of Ganondorf.

@ShapiroKeatsDarkMage Try Dark Souls it's like an "adult" version of Zelda

If we insist in making every game adult-ish two things may happen:

    1) a generation of kids that deals with a material way out of their age standards

    2) the games will die with our generation

None of these seems good to me. And that's why I love Nintendo: they don't need blood and tits to entertain an adult or a child.

I easily can play Mario, Donkey Kong, Metroid, Pokemon, Zelda with my father, my friends, my kid, my wife and my little cousin.

I love Dark Souls because of his western-ized style.

I think Eldritch Knight is also a good class for Link.

I know this is an old thread but I am really interested in this character concept for Link, and have already started using it. The one problem I'm having is figuring out what spells to use. I'm straight up making him 20th Level, and gave him Gust, Light, Comprehend Languages, Cure Wounds, Heroism, Longstrider, Enhance Ability, Locate Object, Fireball, and Lightning Bolt, but can't figure out what else to give him.
