PS4. How do I swap inventory items between characters

in Baldur's Gate: Enhanced Edition
I'm on PS4. How do I give a belt or health potion to another character on my team? Do I have to drop it then choose the character to pick it up? Any detailed response with clear instructions would be appreciated.

    I don't have the game on console but I'd assume it was about the same. In the inventory menu, grab the item you want to transfer to another party member and then drag it to their portrait.

    Click on the item you want to move, then push the L1 and R1 buttons to change player. Then Click the open inventory slot to place it again.

    Select item you want to trade with "X" > Use the bumper to switch characters > hit "X" to confirm.
