Lyre of Progression dont seem to work?

I have just purchased the Lyre of Progression and it dont seem to add any extra spells to my Bards spell list. I have attached a couple of screen grabs. It should an 2 extra 2nd level and 1 extr 3rd level spell. Perhaps I am missing something or doing something wrong? Any advice would be appreciated.

    Hey, I can't see your screenshots, but for me it works, however not if I'm holding a crossbow. I think it only works with 1-handed weapons, as it's an off-hand item. Which weapon are you wielding?

    Yeah, if you're currently wielding a 2-handed weapon like a crossbow or a 2-handed sword, any item in your off-hand such as a shield is considered to be unequipped, even if it stays in the off-hand slot on your character doll.

    Thanks guys that makes sense as I have a long bow equipped.

    I put a one-handed throwing weapon in the hands of my Bard, if I have one in my party, for that exact reason. The magical Axe, usually.
