[MASSIVE_SPOLIERS] A Question About the ________ City

NoloirNoloir Member, Mobile Tester Posts: 380
A question about the Under City Statues. After Sarevok within the Bhaal Temple is defeated a video plays of his essense flowing to a statue made in his image. The Statue then crumbles and shows scores of other within their own cavities within the temple implying that Bhaal left an army of children before he died.

<Charname> has a dream of a bone dagger piercing his statue "rending him/her with pain". If the Statues were that closely connected to the Bhaalspawn that they "felt pain" if the statues were damaged in any way (as if they were voodoo, phalactery esque structures) at least as in the dream; if say the Dukes discovered the Under City and decided to rennovate the Temple to refurbish it into an underground shopping plaza and destroyed the statues as a result would that theoretically kill all the Bhaalspawn?

More seriously, if something happened that destroyed a Bhaalspawn's statue could that event kill it?

I don't think the temple where you fight Sarevok is the same place where all those statues are. Sarevok's essence flows down a crack in the floor to get to the place with the statues. And the temple in the Undercity isn't nearly tall enough to contain that huge cylinder with all the statues.

@Zaxares I thought Bhaal's subplane was part of the Abyss. Cyric was the one whose subplane was part of Pandemonium.

@OlvynChuru: You're probably right. I wasn't sure if Bhaal was a Chaotic Evil or Neutral Evil deity. If he's Chaotic Evil then yes, it makes more sense for his realm to be based in the Abyss somewhere.

@OlvynChuru Maybe the statues are in a pit chamber beneath the temple, if not the Abyss itself. Still, there's the question if one of those statues where somehow destroyed would it destroy the Bhaalspawn with it's corresponding image?

Bhaal’s realm was once a place called Throne of Blood on Khalas, the first layer of Gehenna, a neutral evil lower plane:

Do you remember the book about the 3 rolling bones? You just eliminated the defenses between Baldur's Gate and a Bhaal Temple. That's not all, you fed him lots of murder and Sarevoks blood. Oops.
