Edwin's quest - Vichand's location

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
Is there a way to get Vichand alone, with Edwin in the party? Without Edwin in the party Vichand is far enough from everyone else that you can kill him without alerting anyone. However with Edwin, he either moves closer to others or has a guard next to him that attacks you, starting the whole bridge battle

    You can just wait till the Battle for Boarskyre Bridge starts and then kill Vichand during the battle. It counts as him dying for the purposes of the quest. ;)

    Thanks. Was sort of messing with my OCD in that I wanted to clear the creeping darkness quest first. Didn't fancy the main battle with a party below peak.

    Discovered that one of the conversations "don't go charging in" moves Vichand but you can still complete the creeping darkness quest by killing a guard.

    Only problem now is that straight after the battle Edwin, decided to leave, I assume due to too high a rep.
    So I didn't get the robe straight away, but next time you see him, he'll offer the robe if he joins
