What is the point of Glint's quest

in Baldur's Gate: Siege of Dragonspear
Just looking at the various NPC quests, hence a couple of other posts. However I can't see the point of Glint's quest. Unlike most of the others you don't get any extra xp. In fact all you seem to get is the Stiletto +2. Am I missing something

    I mean from a reward point of view.

    Character quest specific rewards:
    Corwin - 6000 xp
    Jaheira - 3000 xp + item
    M'Khiin - 18000 xp + couple of items
    Nerra - supposedly 24000 xp If I could get it to work. Only getting the 6000xp part at the moment
    Safana - 6000 xp

    Ok you don't get any extra xp for Edwin but you do get the robe which isn't bad. Whereas Glint you get no extra XP and the Stiletto which isn't that great.

    I recall that you get a better reward from the final family member that you meet if Glint isn’t in the party
