Demogorgon Bugged?

There is a suggestion in the article here (https://baldursgate.fandom.com/wiki/Demogorgon) that Demogorgon is bugged in BG2:EE (it doesn't use spell abilities effectively or regenerate as intended). Can anyone confirm whether this is the case in the current version of BG2:EE? Cheers.

Sorry, broken link. Here is the working one: https://baldursgate.fandom.com/wiki/Demogorgon

Demogorgon is one of a number of ToB bosses (also including the Ravager and Balthazar) with a regeneration effect in the creature file. In his case. 6 HP/second.

These effects, uniformly, don't work. The game's actual regenerating creatures such as vampires and greater wolfweres have items that grant regeneration while equipped instead.

Using abilities effectively ... well, that's all in the script. Demogorgon doesn't have abilities memorized; he just force-casts everything. It's hard to say what he should have when what he does have is handled that way. There are remnants of apparent changes in the script, including a bug that gives him a no-cooldown spell, but those changes were likely made deliberately for balance reasons.

    Hi @jmerry

Thanks for your insightful response. To clarify, are you saying that Demogorgon's behaviour was likely changed by Beamdog to rebalance things (compared to vanilla bg2) based on their own view of how things should be or were they instead fixing obvious errors in the code?

    Cheers.

Not changed by Beamdog. Changed by the original developers of ToB, before the game was released in the first place. The version we have now is essentially the same as the original release.
