Katana of the Mummylord issues

I have an undead fighter/rogue with a proficiency in katanas and possess the Katana of the Mummylord. My 'Use Magic Device' score is 33, but I can't use use this katana. The message says that I am not of the correct race to equip the item. What more do I need to do?

    Did you use an external program like LETO or a gif editor to make yourself undead? There's no in-game way to change your race, so check if your character sheet still lists you as whatever race you created them as. I suspect it still says Human/Elf/whatever

    your UMD score can get around the racial if it is high enough to beat the DC. but it depends also on the value of the item. so if the value is super high, then so is the DC to beat the racial restriction with UMD.

    btw... according to the wiki.. there are items with values so high that UMD is impossible.
